Week 1B

Today's class was very informational. We reviewed the desktop of a Mac, which to be fair I am very new to. I am a Windows user and have never owned a Mac computer or laptop before- so all of the keys are both similar but also completely different from Windows controls. We also went over the different types of formats and also bits. I found it very informational. I think- for a lot of us- we know what things are like .pdf and .psd and all of those. However, we do not know the proper terms for what each letter stands for.

It's simple and basic, but at the same time I had to think about it for the right word for each letter compared to just knowing and associating the file format. Watching the video about Adobe Illustrators origins was very cool. I was a lot more familiar with using AI near the end of class.

I guess I just find it strange that we as designers tend to do these things either by instinct or we just figure it out- so having to do things step by step and having to think about them can be a bit different also.

We ended class today with a little exercise with black and white circles in Illustrator.

This is what I ended with:

I never was one for staying within the lines.
